Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport is the primary international airport for Georgia. The airport is located about 20 minutes (17 km) away from the city center. An important travel note is that most of the flights arrive and depart out of Tbilisi at night and in the early morning. Most airlines out of Tbilisi serve Russia - such as S7, Ural Airlines, and Pobeda - and the Middle East. Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, and the national carrier of Georgia, Georgian Airways, serve as the primary links between Tbilisi and Europe.

Davit Aghmashenebeli Kutaisi International Airport is located in west-central Georgia, about three hours west of Tbilisi in Georgia's third largest city, Kutaisi. The airport is newly built and has been undergoing a rapid expansion over the past few years since the Hungary-based low-cost carrier WizzAir established a hub in Kutaisi, offering flights to many European destinations. Leaving out of Kutaisi are also flights to Moscow. This makes Kutaisi a very cheap, albeit generally less convenient, option to travel to and from Georgia.
